Greetings and welcome to our web site!

I am relatively new to Walnut Creek Church and hope you can experience some of the same “grace filled” spirit of welcome that I experience even on this web page.  As a church, we are looking at some new ways to keep this page fresh and helpful.  You can look at our newsletter and weekly bulletin online.  You can see this page in a new and refreshed way every week.  You can see many of our ministries and sense some of the joy and excitement we find here at our worship and fellowship and ministry times in our congregation.  Even our live web cast has had some slight improvements and we are getting more and more feedback all the time.

If you are reading this and have any suggestions or input for us as we try to make the Gospel relevant for this day and age, please share those with us.  You can use this web site to send us comments, or, send me an email at sailes@walnutcreekchurch.com.   We know that we don’t have all the answers, but we do seek God’s help and truth in many different ways—you might be one of them.

I had a phone call from one of our “golden” folk here at The Creek.  She was so excited about how our worship services have inspired her and her family.  She wanted us to begin to promote everything we do in our local newspaper.  She was so excited about the idea that she wanted us to promote things that aren’t even “public” interest (like our annual meeting for members called “Charge Conference”!).  She thought that each of my sermons should be “advertised”.   I was so impressed with her sincerity and passion for getting out the good news of Walnut Creek Church.  I listened to her politely and promised that we would begin making weekly contributions to the paper—which they may or may not publish.  But I take her seriously and I take you seriously, too.

Computers and internet are more and more a part of my life.  I imagine the same is true for you.  But, many of our folk are still not there.  They need the “traditional” forms of communication to keep their spiritual lives vital and fresh.  My prayer is that all of us will remain sensitive to this special need for us and others.  I now have a little more work to do—but that is good.  It means we are sharing the good news and the good life of God with more and more people.

I hope you can join us in our efforts to help you and others live stronger/longer lives for God.  After all, we do believe in the positive power of God!

in grace and peace,

Pastor Steve
